Dr Ben Samuel qualified with honors from Monash University. He also has a Masters in Psychological Medicine, an advanced training certificate in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.

In his public practice, Dr Ben Samuel is a consultant psychiatrist for the Dandenong Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, through Southern Health. He also has a special interest in mother-infant psychiatry and has presented at international infant mental health conferences on his work with maternal and child health services. He has specialist training in family, individual and parent therapies, as well as psychopharmacology. He sees infants, children and adolescents in his private practice with a broad range of emotional and behavioural problems.

When referred to Dr Ben Samuel it is useful to have a referral that includes all family members to allow for rebates for parent and family sessions.
