Dr Rebecca Adams
Dr Rebecca Adams provides psychiatric care to adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or relationship and trauma-related issues. She works collaboratively with her patients in psychotherapy (talk therapy), and prescribes medications when they are needed. She has a special interest in women’s issues, and also in the effect of modern life and its stresses on every individual’s mental health. She likes to take a collaborative and holistic approach to the ‘difficulties in living’ and psychological distresses which very many of us face.
Dr. Adams completed her medical training at The University of Melbourne, before moving to the United States where she completed her training in general psychiatry and psychotherapy. Since returning to Australia in 1999, she has worked mainly in private practice.
Dr. Adams is a member of the IARPP (the International Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy).
She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and an Affiliate Member of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
